![]() ![]() You need a virgin "PlayerProgress.dat" file and a tool called Beyond Compare. Ok, back to the "PlayerProgress.dat" file. Look in Windows event viewer for crash logs, it might give you a clue. Could be your antivirus, video card driver and so on. If it does, the root cause is not you profiles files. Keep playing for a while to see if it crashes. Adjust your settings and start a new game. Rename the "C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Empyrean" folder and start the game in DX10. You don't want Steam to send you your saved files from the cloud. First, Untick the Steam cloud synchronization check box in steam (Steam/Settings/Cloud). Note that if you have spent a lot of time in the game, and have a lot of money and have completed a lot of stuff, then it's worth it to spend some time on this but first, I would start a new game to see if your issue is caused by corrupted files. Maybe there is a better way but since I'm not into coding, I did the following. The way I fixed the "PlayerProgress.dat" is a bit complicated and I may have been lucky. I have done this a while back and don't remember everything. ![]() I hope you're familiar with this kind of operation because I can't really be more clear in my explanations. DO NOT just overwrite the file, keep a copy of the corrupted one. Save the changes and replace the corrupted file by the one you just created. I don't quite remember which lines I moved to the right but at the end, you end up with identical files. The idea is to move data from the left side to the right side (corrupted to virgin). You will now see the 2 files loaded side by side. Once Beyond Compare installed, right click on your possibly corrupted "PlayerProgress.dat" file and click "Select left file for Compare" then right click on the virgin "PlayerProgress.dat" file and click "Compate to PlayerProgress.dat". Your best bet would be to send your log files to the devs and wait for a response but this might take some time though. ![]()
